parkway speakeasy

Justin and I went to the Parkway Speakeasy theater for the first time, and saw Låt den rätte komma in (Let The Right One In) - we both really enjoyed it and agreed that it was a great movie. (Above is the car ride to Oakland: Justin's "neutral face" which apparently is similar to his "pissed-off face", and me just being me.)

We got some awesomely amazing food: corned beef and bread-bowl chowder.

I like taking pictures in the car.

Zees ees Justin walking toward me after feeding the stupid meter. Srsly, there's NO free parking around the theater.

a friday in capitola

Today my family drove, four hours round-trip, all the way to Capitola and back to go to Great-aunt Marybeth's funeral.

There were a ton of people from my dad's side of the family there, since Marybeth was his aunt. I don't know most of them very well. In fact, I barely know their names, but they all seemed to know who I was and "how much I've grown up." At any rate, I got sick of the whole business, and I made my way over to Peets after a French exit. Mmm espresso and peace and quiet.

After sitting around at Peets a while and diddling around on my phone, I decided to wander around a little, and found the beach. It was really gorgeous.

Later on, my family loaded up the car and went over to a pizza restaurant with Pops and Grandma and the Lopez cousins.

They had a small arcade with one of those candy claw machines.

Darius got a pack of super-hot candies from there, and the outrageously-named flavors (cherry combustion) had John and Jude making faces the rest of the dinner.

all-in-all, just another brick in the wall

Chillin' out with Justin today. We drove around for a bit and later watched The Wall until it was time for me to go home.

my honor roll student can pwn yer face

John and I are on the Honor Roll at Heritage! Woohoo!

We both got out of 4th period to go to the auditorium and get our honor roll certificates. Every seat was full, mostly with students, but a couple parents were there, too. They did a random drawing with $5 Willy's gift cards, but neither of us won.

Eating lunch with Courtney and Claire outside of the career canter.

Everyone had bananas today. It was a little weird.

Courtney and I both went to the swim team meeting after school. Practice starts on Monday, and we're both psyched! :D

I got my drivers license in the mail today! :D

"we're dancing in a... convenience store?!"

What happened today: Nutella for breakfast, 84/85 Health test on drug unit, drew a map for John on my phone so he could pick up my books (fail), meh-pizza with Justin, and trapped inside a Bart train. All-in-all, a pretty amazing day.

Well hey!, it's Justin again. :D

sleepy monday

Mary, chillin' on the stairs.

rain on the windows

Huge ominously grey clouds rolled across the sky all day, pouring on and off, and apparently hailing in Oakley, according to Justin.

Matthew, putting away his Darth Vader costume right before running out the door to go with Dad into Walnut Creek, whose plan was to clean the gutters at the Grande Corte house.

My first (legal) drive alone was to the most excitingly epic destination ever: WINCO!

a day in the city

I went into the city today to help out with Mr. Fealy's sandwich stand at the end of the Walk for Life. It was pretty chilly and foggy - typical SF weather.

Loading up the buckets with soda cans, a buck a piece.

The huge ice chests (6) were full of sandwiches, which we sold for $5 each. They were pretty good! I had one of the turkey kinds for lunch.

My family left before I was finished helping out, so I took the Muni back through the crowded city and back to Bart.

Mom and Dad picked me up at the Pittsburg/Baypoint station, and I tagged along on their date to Outback.

Yours truly.

why, an adventure, of course!

Justin and I went on an adventure today, which was amazing. We saw a bunch of random stuff, rode the escalator in the rain, got some awesome pizza, almost got lost, went to In-N-Out and apparently antagonized a gaggle of mentally unstable kids, and then came home and watched Arrested Development on my couch. All-in-all an amazing day.

Does this even need a caption? I think not.

drive you crazy

Today Mom and I went to the Tracy DMV (the nearer offices were booked) to take my drivers license behind-the-wheel test! I was a little nervous, but I passed with only a few minor errors. I am an official California driver, ladies and gentlemen! Woo! :D

Like I've said before, my cell phone camera doesn't do sunsets justice, but here's another gorgeous one. It turned a very vivid orange later in the evening, right before the sun set.

Mark, Mary and Andrew were with Mom when she picked me up from school, with McDonalds in hand. Mark looks tired here because he'd been riding around all day.

Little Miss Mary insisted that I take a picture of her, too, and also that I show it to her so she can approve.

A few minutes late to school in the morning - traffic, oh noes. Apparently there was an accident/fire/catastrophe on Balfour this morning, in the rain, and there was quite a long line in the attendance office when John and I went to get late-passes.

cheetos and fro-yo?

Justin and I spent the afternoon together, and took me to Yogurt Island. I got Heath-bar yogurt! Mmmm. *Yummy sound* Aren't we healthy? :P

Getting out of the student parking lot took forever today! Everyone seemed to be in a rush to get home.

This is the smartass kid who sits right behind me in programming class, Brooktay. I got careless and took this picture right before I got my phone taken away by Mr Pardi, and I couldn't get it back until I went to SLC-A after school. I felt so naked during the rest of my classes.

inauguration day

We watched the inauguration throughout the entire first period at school today on the projecter.

I saw this bird walking home from school.

"I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me..."

On the freeway driving to evening class.

Got to class a few minutes early and listened to Mr. Cordova give an impromptu Latin lesson outside the classroom.

Waiting at Bart

Can you see me? I'm a ghost.

"we're dancing in a candy store!"

Candy makes a person forever young. Or at least, FEEL forever young.

Justin got food at Quizno's, I got a chai tea latte at the 'Bucks. The shirt he's wearing is awesome, dontcha think?

I love how homework for Studio Art is to exercise creativity. It's why I wanna pursue art as a career - what's more fun than having work = play? (Above is a snapshot of my sketchbook today: Justin's profile and Mrs. B sitting Indian style.)

Monica and I are plotting to take over the world someday.
