"Saturdays" seem to be synonymous with "family cleanup time."

Today after school John and I went to the first swim meet of the season!

It was freezing cold but pretty fun!

yawn

John and I went to the early morning swim practice this morning - my alarm went off at 4:45AM. It was actually more fun than I thought it'd be.

Conscious thanks to me good friend Coffee.

Justin and I went to Panera after dinner to hang out and celebrate my new job! Mmm hot chocolate.

Arizona Green Tea is awesome.

sunday shopping and being employed, finally

Claire and I went to Winco to do the grocery shopping for the week = $250 worth of food. We had to use two carts to get it out to the car in the rain.

Then we went to Jamba Juice afterwards, to celebrate our successful shopping outing and also to celebrate ME GETTING HIRED AT BASKIN ROBBINS! yay!! :D I had my second interview today and they told me that my training would start on March 1st.

finally, the weekend.

The typical Saturday morning cleanup jobs.

Monica and I hung out and listened to a Beatles album I got for Christmas, while I was cleaning the kitchen.

Lunch time! Ham and cheese, mmm mmm. After I finished cleaning, I went to Justin's, and we played Lego Star Wars / Mario Kart until I had to go to church. Big pasta dinner with everybody, minus Bernadette and plus Darius and Justin, and then we went back to Justin's house to watch Jackie Brown. Home by midnight (pumpkin time).

school, swim, party.

"Dress fo' less, foo. Fo sho."

After swim practice, Justin picked me up and we went to Johnny Carino's for Brittany's birthday party and to hang out at Eric's house, which was a lot of fun!

The first race of the season: 50 yards freestyle.

Swimmers! :D

After school, John and I went straight over to the pool to get ready for Time Trials.

This morning in art class we did critiques of the color interpretation of previous black and white works we'd created. Mine is the eye in the blue frame on the upper left. I was messing around with water color and came up with that. It says "Perception."

What my sisters do all day.

Well, except for Monica. She takes breaks to chew on hotpads.

masks, rain, class, and claire

Today in art class, our assignment was to create masks for ourselves out of paper towels, and they were supposed to portray our personalities by using the least amount of additions to the plain paper-towl-with-eye-holes. Can you tell the district is running low on money for materials? :P

It was pouring rain all day... which made for an interesting swim practice. Everyone was looking around hopefully for some lightening, so we could all get out of the pool, but no such luck.

Class in Orinda again.

Sisters :)

love, reign o'er me, rain on me...

Lights through the windshield. I think it'd be interesting to create an abstract painting based on this picture.

Again, lights... this time with some windshield-wiper action going on.

THE famous Monster can.

Justin striding across the front yard and looking angry for unknown reasons. We had a lovely time at Johnny Carino's today, eating a spur-of-the-moment meal.

i scream, you scream

I got the pictures from the adventure in the city yesterday developed, and they're quite fantabulous! Since I used a cheapo disposable camera, they're not as good quality as the pictures from my digital camera, but there's a tangible aspect to real film that I can't get enough of.

Also on the agenda for today was my interview at Baskin Robbins, which went well. It was pretty informal; I was interviewed by a college-aged, shaggy-haired guy named David, and one of the managers, whose toddler granddaughter was sitting in the chair next to me and drawing portraits of her grandma. The interview itself was short and sweet, and they asked me a series of the usual questions. I hope they hire me.

best valentine's day ever!

Justin and I went to San Francisco via Bart to participate in the pillow fight in Justin Herman Plaza! It was the most amazing thing ever, and I'd never seen anything like it before. Whapping random people in the face with a pillow, friendly-mosh-pit-style, has never been so much fun.

We got pizza at Blondies beforehand, after exploring Rasputin (music store) for a good hour or so.

After getting our fill of feathers and fun, we meandered around the city, particularly the Market St. area. We went to the Metreon and then to the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial fountain, which looked dream-like and magical with the lights on it.

Dad gave me some See's because he loves me! Aww.

shutchyeaface.

Mrs. B stuck this tape on Bianca's mouth because she wouldn't shut up.

It was the "unofficial" Valentine's day at school, so everyone was passing out candy, flowers, and notes.

pulp fiction and burritos

Justin gave me this Calvin and Hobbes book! Yessss! :D

Waiting in the car at AmPm while Justin got gas, and then we got Mexican food and went to Justin's house to watch Pulp Fiction.

raindrops fallin' on my head

Today I realized how long it actually takes to get out of the school parking lot. I never could fully appreciate this experience without being in the driver's seat myself.

By the time I got out, the sky had cleared up, and the sun coming through the clouds looked gorgeous.

Raindrops on my windshield.

Matthew in my room, entertaining me and Justin (who came over for spaghetti dinner) by being a "short guy."
